About the Artist
Karen Thomas is a Winnipeg Manitoba artist who loves to create art with coloured pencil as her preferred medium. Every painting she creates begins with inspiration from the natural beauty of nature that is all around her, brought to life with attention to detail, colour and composition.
Raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, she grew up with a mother who inspired her to explore all types of arts and crafts. She settled on drawing with coloured pencils as they suited her introverted personality.
Karen enjoyed a long and joyful career as a merchandiser. After retiring, she found that she takes the same approach to creating her art as she did creating a great display. Have a good composition and the rest will fall into place.
Karen is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, The Manitoba Society of Artists, and The Charleswood Art Group.
